Cookie Policy
Last updated: February 10, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how NameSniper ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit namesniper.pro (the "Service"). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your choices regarding their use.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, provide a better user experience, and supply information to site owners. Cookies can be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them).
2. Types of Cookies We Use
2.1 Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to function. They cannot be disabled. They include:
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| next-auth.session-token | Maintains your authenticated session | 30 days | Essential |
| next-auth.csrf-token | Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks | Session | Essential |
| next-auth.callback-url | Stores the redirect URL during authentication | Session | Essential |
| __Secure-next-auth.session-token | Secure variant of session token (HTTPS only) | 30 days | Essential |
2.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we use.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookie-consent | Stores your cookie consent preference | 1 year | Functional |
| theme-preference | Remembers your display theme preference | 1 year | Functional |
2.3 Analytics Cookies
We do not currently use analytics cookies. If we introduce analytics tracking in the future (such as Google Analytics or a privacy-focused alternative), this policy will be updated and you will be notified. Any analytics cookies will require your explicit consent before being placed.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some third-party services we integrate with may set their own cookies on your device:
3.1 Stripe
When you access payment pages or manage your subscription, Stripe may set cookies for fraud prevention and payment processing. See Stripe's Cookie Policy.
3.2 Google OAuth
When you sign in with Google, Google may set cookies related to authentication. See Google's Cookie Policy.
3.3 GitHub OAuth
When you sign in with GitHub, GitHub may set cookies related to authentication. See GitHub's Cookie Policy.
4. Local Storage
In addition to cookies, we use browser localStorage for:
- Check result caching: Temporarily storing recent name and domain check results (expires after 30 minutes) to improve performance and reduce redundant checks.
- Cookie consent preference: Remembering your cookie consent choice so the banner is not shown again.
- User preferences: Storing non-sensitive display preferences locally on your device.
Data stored in localStorage remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless specifically required by a feature you use.
5. How to Manage Cookies
You can control and manage cookies in several ways:
5.1 Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings. You can typically:
- View cookies stored on your device
- Delete all or individual cookies
- Block all or third-party cookies
- Set preferences for specific websites
Note that blocking essential cookies may prevent the Service from functioning properly, particularly features requiring authentication.
5.2 Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit our Service, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner allowing you to accept all cookies or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for our domain.
5.3 Clearing Local Storage
To clear localStorage data set by our Service, you can use your browser's developer tools (usually accessible via F12) and navigate to the Application or Storage tab to delete stored data for namesniper.pro.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want to be tracked. As there is no accepted standard for how to respond to DNT signals, we do not currently respond to them. However, since we do not use analytics or advertising cookies, your browsing on our Service is not tracked for advertising purposes.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our business practices. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. If we introduce new categories of cookies, we will obtain your consent where required by law.
